Margaret Connolly has been a literary agent for 30 years.

She began her working life as a lawyer, before being approached to join Curtis Brown in the mid-1980s. She set up her own agency in 1992.

Her client list includes many of Australia’s most distinguished novelists, non-fiction authors, children’s writers and illustrators, many of whom are published internationally. She works with a wide range of co-agents and sub-agents around the world.

In 2017 Margaret received the prestigious Pixie O’Harris Award which recognises excellence and dedicated service to the field of children’s literature. The award, presented by ABIA (Australian Book Industry Awards) also saw her inducted into the ABIA Hall of Fame.

In 2018 the children’s poetry anthology which she co-edited with author Natalie Jane Prior, A Boat of Stars, was published by Harper Collins Australia.
